It was a weekend I’ll never forget. Two of my closest friends, a summer estate, pool, food, good drinks, and new people. We arrived to our stay the morning of June second. Stopped in by a cozy little coffee shop that sold the sweetest cinnamon rolls and old portraits. When we reached the house, we unpacked our bags and headed straight for pool where we’d tan underneath the summer sun. Along through the day we’d meet a dashing middled aged couple. They looked like they could’ve been in their late twenties. They’d then invite us to dinner where we’d dine over good food and drinks. The guy ended up paying for our dinner. The night was far from over. They wanted to show us where they were building their getaway house. I drove us, my two friends and them to through the night road. Windows down, my friend hair blowing in the night sky. It felt like a movie. We got to the property, but there was nothing, but high grass. I was skeptical at first, because we are three black people walking willingly into “woods”. I stayed at the car and so did my other friend. She laid on the hood of the car looking at the stars. When we returned to the estate, we changed our clothes and jumped into the jacuzzi. We were up until the late hours of the morning. Didn’t want the night to end, but just as it does, it did.
Dear Reader,
There is nothing like the love and company of friends. Guys and girls may come and go, but friends are forever.
