The Snow Day

It’s a freeze and the city is shut down. Snow falls from the sky and sticks four the seven inches. I am cuddled up on the sofa when my phone begins to rings. It’s my cousins on a facetime call. We are all scared across the city enjoying our time home. Houston never gets snow, so we are actually pretty thrilled. Soon our parents join the call, and they are having a blast. The giant call grab in grandmother, nieces and nephews, grands and great grandchildren. We laugh and celebrate virtually. This moment will forever be kept.

Dear Reader,

Why is it we have the most fun when we are forced to sit down? Though our lives take us elsewhere we will always be family first.
